STEPHEN
SCORER
Gold
As I stand on this big step, I started to recollect how I had achieved this most memorable moment.
Only in my wildest dreams would I actually be able to take the gold medal in the 100 meters at the Rio Olympics.
I was a rank outsider and lucky to make the final, but after two false starts, the field went from eight to six runners.
Bang and the race starts and I get a flyer and dip first to take the spoils.
So here I stand with my national anthem sounding proud and my flag being hoisted high.
"This was a 100-word short story for the Musical Drabble contest on Writing.Com, the music prompt was Spandau Ballet and Gold."
I shall say 'zis only once
I was taking a camping holiday around the battle sites of the Second World War.
After a day crammed with sightseeing and too much walking.
Feeling parched I walked into the small town of Nouvion, eventually stumbling across a quaint little cafe called Café René.
This place was full of war nick knacks and pictures.
It was whilst being served a refreshingly tasting cuppa by the even more exquisite waitress called 'Yvette' that I asked her about an old oil painting which was hanging on the wall?
"Oh, that's the Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies!" she said.
"A 100 word Story for the Music Drabble on Writing.Com; Madonna and Holiday being was the prompt used and gaining me a 3rd place in that month's contest."
